ट्रैफिक को आसान बनाने के लिए सुबह के व्यस्त समय के दौरान दहिसर टोल प्लाजा के रास्ते मुंबई में भारी वाहनों के प्रवेश पर प्रतिबंध
मुंबईः यातायात की बढ़ती भीड़ को कम करने के प्रयास में, मीरा भायंदर-वसई विरार (एमबीवीवी) यातायात पुलिस ने सुबह के व्यस्त समय के दौरान दहिसर टोल प्लाजा के माध्यम से मुंबई में प्रवेश करने वाले भारी वाहनों पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया है। मंगलवार से लागू प्रतिबंध ट्रकों, ट्रेलरों, बहु-धुरी वाहनों और यात्रियों के साथ सभी प्रकार की अंतरराज्यीय और अंतर-जिला निजी बसों पर लागू होगा। मुंबई-अहमदाबाद राजमार्ग और ठाणे दोनों से मुंबई आने वाले वाहनों के लिए सुबह 8:00 बजे से 11:30 बजे तक प्रतिबंध लागू रहेगा।
यह कार्रवाई जून 2022 में मुंबई यातायात पुलिस द्वारा लागू किए गए इसी तरह के प्रतिबंध का अनुसरण करती है, जिसने व्यस्त समय के दौरान मुंबई के भीतर भारी वाहनों के संचालन पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया था। हालांकि, शहर भर में प्रतिबंध को लागू करने वाली चुनौतियों के कारण, एमबीवीवी यातायात पुलिस ने अब अधिक प्रभावी प्रबंधन के उद्देश्य से इन घंटों के दौरान दक्षिण की ओर जाने वाले भारी वाहनों को दहिसर के रास्ते मुंबई में प्रवेश करने से पूरी तरह से प्रतिबंधित करने का निर्णय लिया है।
पिछले हफ्ते, राज्य के परिवहन मंत्री प्रताप सरनाईक ने परिवहन अधिकारियों को दहिसर टोल प्लाजा पर भारी वाहनों और नियमित चार पहिया वाहनों के लिए अलग-अलग लेन स्थापित करने का निर्देश दिया था, जिसका उद्देश्य भीड़ को कम करना था। सरनाईक के काफिले को लंबी कतारों के कारण टोल प्लाजा पर 10-15 मिनट इंतजार करना पड़ा।
एम. बी. वी. वी. यातायात पुलिस ने भीड़भाड़ वाले समय के दौरान दहिसर टोल प्लाजा पर बढ़ते गतिरोध की पुष्टि की, जहां पश्चिमी एक्सप्रेस राजमार्ग पर वाहन अक्सर यातायात का कारण बनते हैं। यह स्थिति न केवल भारी वाहनों में देरी करती है, बल्कि एम्बुलेंस, आपातकालीन सेवाओं और वीआईपी काफिले सहित छोटे वाहनों को भी प्रभावित करती है।
पुलिस उपायुक्त, सुहास बावचे ने कहा, “इस व्यवधान ने महत्वपूर्ण असुविधा पैदा की है और कानून और व्यवस्था के मुद्दे में बढ़ने की संभावना है।” बावचे ने बताया कि मीरा-भायंदर क्षेत्र में राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग और प्रमुख सड़कों पर यातायात को सुव्यवस्थित करने के लिए नया प्रतिबंध आवश्यक है।
यह प्रतिबंध पुलिस, फायर ब्रिगेड, एम्बुलेंस, स्कूल बसों और स्थानीय अधिकारियों या भारतीय राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग प्राधिकरण द्वारा अधिकृत वाहनों जैसे आवश्यक सेवा वाहनों पर लागू नहीं होगा।
एक अन्य कदम में, एमबीवीवी यातायात पुलिस ने मीरा रोड और भायंदर के बीच घोडबंदर रोड जंक्शन पर वर्सोवा पुल पर ‘नो-पार्किंग’ नियम भी लागू किया है। यह पुल, जिसे अक्सर एक सेल्फी बिंदु के रूप में उपयोग किया जाता था, एक यातायात खतरा और एक सुरक्षा चिंता बन गया था। नया प्रतिबंध पुल के सभी लेन पर उत्तर की ओर और दक्षिण की ओर जाने वाले यातायात दोनों पर लागू होगा।

Heavy Vehicles Banned from Entering Mumbai via Dahisar Toll Plaza During Morning Peak Hours to Ease Traffic
MUMBAI: In an effort to alleviate growing traffic congestion, the Mira Bhayander-Vasai Virar (MBVV) traffic police have enforced a ban on heavy vehicles entering Mumbai via the Dahisar toll plaza during morning peak hours. The restriction, which came into effect on Tuesday, will apply to trucks, trailers, multi-axle vehicles, and all types of interstate and inter-district private buses with passengers. The ban will be in place from 8:00 am to 11:30 am for vehicles approaching Mumbai from both the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway and Thane.
This action follows a similar ban implemented by Mumbai traffic police in June 2022, which prohibited heavy vehicles from operating within Mumbai during peak hours. However, due to challenges enforcing the ban across the city, MBVV traffic police have now decided to restrict south-bound heavy vehicles from entering Mumbai via Dahisar altogether during these hours, aiming for more effective management.
Last week, state transport minister Pratap Sarnaik had also directed transport authorities to establish separate lanes for heavy vehicles and regular four-wheelers at the Dahisar toll plaza, aiming to reduce congestion. The move came after Sarnaik’s convoy had to endure a 10-15 minute wait at the toll plaza due to long queues.
The MBVV traffic police confirmed the growing gridlock at the Dahisar toll plaza during peak hours, where vehicles on the Western Express Highway often cause traffic backups. This situation not only delays heavy vehicles but also impacts smaller vehicles, including ambulances, emergency services, and VIP convoys.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Suhas Bavche, noted, “This disruption has caused significant inconvenience and has the potential to escalate into a law and order issue.” Bavche explained that the new restriction is necessary to streamline traffic on the national highway and key roads in the Mira-Bhayandar area.
The ban will not apply to essential service vehicles, such as police, fire brigade, ambulances, school buses, and vehicles authorized by local authorities or the National Highways Authority of India.
In another move, MBVV traffic police have also imposed a ‘no-parking’ rule on the Versova bridge at the Ghodbunder Road junction between Mira Road and Bhayandar. The bridge, often used as a selfie point, had become a traffic hazard and a safety concern. The new restriction will apply to both north-bound and south-bound traffic on all lanes of the bridge.
