Telangana Government to Begin Issuance of New Ration Cards from January 26, 2025
Hyderabad, 26 January 2025: The Telangana government is set to commence the process of issuing new ration cards to eligible residents starting from January 26, 2025. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy confirmed that the distribution effort is part of an ongoing initiative aimed at ensuring equitable access to food security, ensuring no qualifying individual is excluded.
Key Details of the Process:
- Identification of Eligible Families: New ration cards will be distributed to households identified through the ongoing caste census survey. Once the final list is approved, it will be forwarded to the Civil Supplies Department for further action.
- e-KYC Process: The deadline for completing the e-KYC process, which includes biometric verification and linking of Aadhaar, has been set for January 31, 2025. All eligible individuals must complete the verification at their nearest ration shop between January 16, 2025, and January 31, 2025.
- Data Entry and Verification: The data entry for the new ration cards began on January 21, 2025, following a verification period from January 16 to January 20, 2025.
- Inclusivity for Migrants: The government has also made provisions for migrants moving to Hyderabad to qualify for new ration cards, ensuring that all deserving families are included in this welfare initiative.

Eligible individuals can check the Telangana Ration Card List for 2025 by following these steps:
- Visit the official website: https://epds.telangana.gov.in/FoodSecurityAct/
- Look for the Reports section and click on it.
- Select the Ration Card Reports tab, followed by FSC Card Status Report.
- Choose your District and enter the respective Shop Number.
- The list of all ration cards associated with the selected shop will be displayed.
The Telangana government emphasizes that the objective of this ration card distribution is to ensure that all eligible households have access to essential food security services.
