Mumbai: The controversy surrounding social media influencer Ranveer Allahbadia intensified after his remarks on Samay Raina’s YouTube reality show India’s Got Latent went viral. On Thursday (February 13, 2025), Mumbai Police recorded the statements of seven individuals, including influencer Apoorva Mukhija, in connection with the remarks made by Allahbadia.
This development follows an FIR filed by the Maharashtra Cyber Department against the show over allegations of offensive content. Allahbadia, a prominent social media figure, is expected to appear before the police in the coming days, according to officials.
The controversy was sparked when Nilotpal Mrinal Pandey, a functionary of the Maharashtra BJP’s Uttar Bhartiya Morcha and a person with a disability himself, filed a complaint. Pandey accused Allahbadia and other participants of using derogatory language toward persons with disabilities on the show. He called for stringent action against those responsible.
Meanwhile, a team from Assam Police has arrived in Mumbai to further investigate the matter. On Wednesday (February 12, 2025), they visited Khar Police Station and met with senior officials to discuss the ongoing inquiry.
